Grading Systems:

Result of a student will be determined on the basis of Grade Point in a 4-point scale along with Letter Grade. However, to determine the Letter Grade/Grade Point the following range of marks will be considered:

MARKS RANGE LETTER GRADE GRADE POINT ASSESSMENT
80% and above A+ (Plus) 4.00 Outstanding
75% to less than 80% A 3.75 Excellent
70% to less than 75% A- 3.50 Very Good
65% to less than 70% B+ 3.25 Good
60% to less than 65% B 3.00 Satisfactory
55% to less than 60% B- 2.75 Above Average
50% to less than 55% C+ 2.50 Average
45% to less than 50% C 2.25 Below Average
40% to less than 45% D 2.00 Pass
Less than 40% F 0.00 Fail
I Incomplete
W Withdraw
X Absent  From Examination

Calculation of GPA/CGPA:

Calculative Grade point Average (CGPA) is determined by multiplying the credit hours for a course by the grade points received for that course. Then the total number of semester grade points for all courses is divided by the total number of credit hours attempted.

CGPA = Sum of (credits X Grade points) / Total credits

There will be an examination evaluation committee for each year of the BBA Program. Single examiner will evaluate the final examination scripts under supervision of the Head Examiner. Computation of Grade Point Average will be made on the basis of following illustration:

Example

FIRST SEMESTER

Course No. No. of Credits Grade Awarded Corresponding Grading Point Points Secured
Col. 1 Col. 2 Col. 3 Col.4=(Col.1XCol.3)
1101 3 B 3 9
1102 3 A 4 12
1103 3 C 2 6
1104 3 B 3 9
1105 3 B 3 9
TOTAL: 15 45

EARNED CREDIT (EC) = 3+3+3+3+3 = 15 45

CGPA=————– 3.00

SECOND SEMESTER

Course No. No. of Credits Grade Awarded Corresponding Grading Point Points Secured

1202 3 C 2 6
1203 3 F 0 0
1204 3 B 3 9
1205 3 C 2 6
TOTAL: 15 30

EARNED CREDIT (EC) = 3+3+3+3+3 = 15 30

CGPA=————– 2.00

CGPA 75/30 2.5
EARNED CREDIT (EC) 15+12 27

Promotion, Improvement, and Drop Out:

Promotion: Results of two semesters in each academic year will be calculated for promotion to next year (1styear to 2nd year). The student must appear at the semester final examination in all courses and pass at least 60 percent of the total courses for example, 6 (six) out of 10 (ten) courses with a grade of D or above. Same rules will be applicable for promotion to the subsequent years that is, 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th year.

For the promotion from one semester to the next semester, a student will have to earn a minimum

semester basic GPA/CGPA as under:

Semester Minimum
GPA CGPA
From 1st year 1st Semester to 1st year 2nd Semester 2.00
From 1styear 2nd Semester to 2nd year 1st Semester 2.05
From 2nd year 1st Semester to 2nd year 2nd Semester 2.10
From 2nd year 2nd Semester to 3rd year 1st Semester 2.10
From 3rd  year 1st Semester to 3rd year 2nd  Semester 2.15
From 3rd  year 2nd Semester to 4thyear 1st   Semester 2.15
From 4th  year 1st  Semester to 4thyear 2nd Semester 2.20

For the award of degree a student will be required to earn minimum CGPA 2.20 at the end of 4th Year 2nd Semester without any F Grade in any course.

A student got F grade in two courses may be promoted to the next semester provided he/she earned GPA 2.00 in the respective semester final examination and should fulfill minimum CGPA requirement from 1st year 2nd semester and onward as mentioned in the Table. But the cumulative F should not exceed 4 (four) courses.

Improvement:

Students receiving F grade in one or more courses must take the improvement examination(s) in subsequent semesters. Two chances will be given to convert F grade into any countable grade. If the students receive a countable grade (B plus), in that case they will not be allowed to further improve his/her grade. Students cannot take the improvement exam for more than two courses in a particular year. Students will not be allowed to improve their In-course, Oral (viva voce) and Internship/Project paper) grade.

Re-admission

If a student does not register for three or more consecutive terms without approved leave of absence from the University be treated as an irregular student. He/ she must pay a re-admission fee (which is 50% of regular admission fee, in which semester the student intended to be readmitted) in addition to the outstanding dues for his/her continuation.

Drop Out

Any Student fails to qualify for the degree within the six academic years; they will automatically be dropped from the program.
